In September 2022, there was one recorded incident of explosive weapon use in the United States, which caused one civilian injury. There were no armed-actor casualties recorded in the United States in September. 

On 13 September 2022, one civilian was injured in an IED explosion in the city of Boston’s Northeastern University, while opening a package delivered to the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies department.

In August 2022, there was one recorded incident of explosive weapon use in the United States, which caused one civilian to be killed. There were no armed-actor casualties recorded in the United States in August. 

On 26 August 2022, one man was killed in an IED explosion in Pomeroy, Meigs county, Ohio.

In July 2022, there was one recorded incident of explosive weapon use in the United States, which caused one civilian, a woman, to be injured. There were no armed-actor casualties recorded in the United States in July. 

On 05 July 2022, a woman was injured when an IED was thrown by unknown actors through the glass of her front door in California.

Casualties

In June 2022, there were four recorded incidents of explosive weapon use in the United States, three of which caused nine civilian casualties, four of whom were killed and five injured, including at least four. Civilians constituted 82% of the total 11 casualties, as two armed actors were also injured. 

In the highest casualty incident on 17 June 2022, one civilian and three teenagers were killed, and one child injured, in a home explosion caused by illegal weapons manufacturing in a garage.
