On 25 December 2022, 10 civilians were killed and five injured when a roadside bomb detonated, hitting a civilian bus near Bougui, Est region.

The highest casualty incident occurred on 05 September 2022, when 35 civilians were killed and at least 37 injured in Soum, in a roadside IED explosion on a supply convoy heading to Ouagadougou.

Civilians accounted for 68% of all 57 casualties, as 18 armed actor casualties were also recorded, 17 of whom were killed and one injured.
On 01 August 2022, 30 civilians were killed and nine injured in a drone strike by Burkina Faso armed forces targeting jihadists, between Kompienga and Pognoa villages.

On 24 April 2022, nine soldiers and six civilians were killed, and 30 civilians were injured, in two suicide attacks by the Katibat Macina militant group, in Burkina Faso’s Soum region. The militants were targeting state armed actors.

Both attacks took place in the Cascades region, one in Larabin and the other in Farakorosso. Both incidents took place on roads and killed two soldiers in each attack.

On 12 September, six armed actors were killed and seven injured in a roadside bomb attack by unknown, non-state actors on a convoy returning from a gold mine in Sakoani, Gourma. The attack also involved the use of firearms.
