Casualties

In September 2022, there were four incidents of explosive weapon use in Armenia, one of which resulted in three civilian injuries. Civilians accounted for 5% of all 56 recorded casualties, as 53 armed-actor casualties were also recorded, 52 of whom were killed and one injured. 

On 13 September 2022, three civilians were injured in Azerbaijani shelling on Armenian military positions in Syunik and other border provinces.

Education

On 13 September 2022, a school and a municipality building in Sotk village, Gegharkunik region of Armenia, were damaged during shelling by Azerbaijani forces on an Armenian military base.

Healthcare

In September 2022, two incidents of explosive weapon use affected civilian access to healthcare in Armenia. 

On 13 September 2022, an ambulance was reportedly damaged during shelling by Azerbaijani forces in Syunik province. On 14 September, an ambulance was hit by a missile reportedly fired by Azerbaijani forces during clashes between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces, also in Syunik province.

August 2022

Casualties

In August 2022, there were no incidents of explosive weapon use which resulted in civilian casualties recorded in Armenia. Nine armed-actor casualties were recorded, one of whom was killed and eight injured. 

On 03 August 2022, one Armenian soldier was killed and eight injured by Azerbaijani mortar and drone strikes, in Artsakh.

Casualties

There was one incident of explosive weapon use in Armenia in September 2021, resulting in the injury of one armed actor. On 28 September, shelling from Azerbaijani positions injured an Armenian soldier in the village of Kut, Gegarkunik.

July 2021

There were six armed-actor casualties in Armenia in July 2021, all from ground launched weapons, specifically shelling and a grenade. On 28 July, three Armenia soldiers were killed and two injured by Azerbaijani shelling in Basarkechar. Sources: TASS, TRT World.

On 26 June 2021 in Vagharshapat, Armenia, a man detonated a hand grenade in a home, killing one man immediately and severely injuring himself. He later died of his injuries in hospital. Source: News.am.
